Facebook-iconDon’t you love the newest smartphones?  The ones that allow you to access the internet and do what seems like everything under the sun?  Well, there really aren’t a whole lot of people in the world that has this type of phone.  Surprised?  Don’t be.  7 out of 10 people use simple, feature phones when accessing the internet.  You’ll find these sorts of phones in high growth areas of the world, such as India, Brazil, South Africa, and a few others.

Because of the high cost of voice calls in these types of places, users will place a call, and then hang up quickly before the other person can answer.  In a way, this is like paging somebody.  Because of this method of phoning people, business have joined in on the missed call movement.  Even Facebook Ads have joined in on the fun.

There is a new Facebook Ad unit that will be place a missed on behalf of a user so they will be able to get a return call with all of the info that they require from the business.  There have been tests that have proven that shows that missed call campaigns increased sales, thus driving 16 times more calls than other media.

This new form of ad will be coming out to more partners in the coming months.  You can check out the Facebook Business page for more information.
