Oracle-Owned Grapeshot Launches A Contextual Targeting Solution For Video Ads

Contextual intelligence provider Grapeshot, who is owned by Oracle, is now out with a new solution for targeting ads inside video.

Called Video Context, the solution turns the audio track of video content into text, and then analyzes that text to categorize the content.  After that, the categorization is embedded into a video player, allowing video advertisers to know the video content categories before sending a video ad to play inside the content video.

As an example, a publisher will create a two-minute video about the battery life in electric cars, and Video Context will analyze the audio-to-text transcription of the story to automatically categorize it.  Once the categorization is made available to advertisers, they’d be able to deploy it appropriately.
