There is going to be yet another move into the world of mobile news by Facebook, as they will be launching a standalone news app next week, according to a report found in the Financial Times.
The app is called Notify, and it’ll give users the opportunity to subscribe to media outlets and receive alerts when new stories are published. Knowledge of the app was leaked to the Awl back in mid-October, and is another move by Facebook to gain more ground in the mobile new market.
The Financial Times, who cited sources familiar with Facebook’s plans, said that Notify is going to include content from a good number of media partners, which includes Vogue, the Washington Post, CBS, Mashable, Comedy Central and Billboard.
