Currently, the amount of shares on Facebook is standing at 84.3% of all shares shared. This is an 11.9 percentage points since last year at this same time. For the most part, I think the only term I can think of right now is “practical monopoly” for Facebook’s dominance over other social networks. Twitter only has a 5.8% share of sharing, which is a 3 percentage points since last year. Pinterest fell 5.3 percentage points to.29% Blogger was the only other social network that rose 2.1 percentage points to 4.8%, according to the data from ShareThis.
The strong shares that Facebook were getting wasn’t specialized specifically to just the desktop version of the site. The share strength of Facebook was especially awesome on mobile devices, standing at 87% of total sharing. The social network also was strong in ShareThis’ People & Society, Health and News categories.
