A month ago, 60-second video ad units was launched by Instagram in the hopes they’d appeal to a wider audience. Today, Instagram is rolling out the ability for both users and brands to upload minute-long videos to their accounts.
Before, Instagram had capped their videos to only 15 seconds. It seems the reason that Instagram has increased the video length for their platform is because people are watching more video than they were before.
The longer videos will begin rolling out today and will reach all accounts in the “coming months.”
