Oh Mr Cutts, you really know how to stir things up, don’t you? Yesterday, Matt Cutts, the head of Google’s webspam, started a bit of an uproar in the SEO community after he claimed that guest blogging for SEO purposes is dead.
In his post, Cutts described how guest blogging went from a great source of high-quality content, to simply being a source of spam.
“Guest blogging is done; it’s just gotten too spammy,” wrote Cutts. “In general I wouldn’t recommend accepting a guest blog post unless you are willing to vouch for someone personally or know them well.”
