The Rollout Of The Google Page Experience Update Is Now Complete

Google announced that the page experience update for desktop has is now officially complete. The update began rolling out on February 22nd and now, 9-days later, it is now fully rolled out.

In comparison, the page experience update for mobile took much longer to complete – it took two and a half months to finish rolling out.

What is page experience?

Basically, it’s meant to understand how a user perceives the experience of a particular web page, like the speed at which a page loads, whether it’s mobile-friendly, runs on HTTPS and the like.

If you’re expecting any massive changes with this update, don’t get your hopes up. This rollout, according to Google, “While this update is designed to highlight pages that offer great user experiences, page experience remains one of many factors our systems take into account… Given this, sites generally should not expect drastic changes,”
