Before we get to deep into this post, let’s all make sure we are on the same page. What is a Lead Generation Card? Anyone? Let me tell you what it is. A Lead Generation Card is a tool created by Twitter that helps advertisers find and connect off-Twitter with users who are interested in their message. Basically, it is a link that allows you to be able to gather new customer email addresses directly within a Tweet. Once this link is tweeted, it will pre-populate a user’s full name, @username and email address into the expanded area of your Tweet. I think we can all see how useful this can be for marketers who are constantly using Twitter as a major form of marketing and communication.
Since it’s launch in August of 2013, a number of small and medium sized businesses have utilized the Lead Generation Cards. In a Moz blog post, Anne Mercogliano from Twitter thought how it could be a great and valuable idea to offer a behind-the-scenes look at how the @TwitterSmallBiz team has used Lead Generation Cards to accomplish their goals. In Anne’s post, she will share three keys to success that have been uncovered through experience using the product.
