Video-advertising-ss-1920Isn’t it hard to believe that we only have a about a month left to go for 2015?  How the year has flown by!  It’s been an interesting year, and we’ve had quite a year in video ads as well.

Did you know that, according to video metrics firm Unruly, Android’s “Friends Furever” ranks as the No. 1 most shared ad of the year.  That ad has a total of 6,432,997 shares across Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and various blogs.

Android outdid themselves this year, as their “Friends Furever” surpassed last year’s “La La La” video by Shakira, which was the most ad of all time.

It seems that this year was the year of furry creatures, as five of the top 20 videos featured animals.

“Data analysis of 1,300 ads proves that 2015 was a highly emotional year for video ads,” says Unruly co-CEO Sarah Wood, “Warmth and happiness shone through, with brands using fluffy pets and simple story lines to melt our hearts and amplify sharing.”

According to the data acquired by Unruly, the top 20 most shared videos of 2015 were shared a total of 40,219,53 times.  This is a pretty impressive number, as this is a 38.5 percent increase over the number of shares won by last years most shared video ads.

Below, you’ll see the video “Friends Furever,” but if you want to see the rest of the top 20 video ads, check out Amy Gesenhues‘ post on Marketing Land.
