Turning Old Content Into New Links

Thrive Business Marketing company logo

Recycle-logoI don’t know about you, but when I put work into something, I like to get as much mileage from that piece of work as I can before it’s finally put on the wayside to make room for something else newer.  You’re not going to buy a new shirt, wear it once or twice, and then put it in your closet, never to be seen again, right?  It’s the same thing with content in SEO.

When you put a lot of time and effort into writing, you would love to see that blog or article you worked so hard on to be read as much as possible.  But when you write a post for your blog, or an article for your site, those pieces you worked so diligently on will eventually make way for newer and newer posts.  Soon, they will be pushed off the page, seemingly never heard from again.  Or will they?

There is a way for you to get that old content to be re-read again!  But how?  Easy!  You link to them of course!  By doing this, you can extend the life of your old content, as well as build new links for your site!  It’s genius!  Casie Gillette has written a Search Engine Land blog post about re-visiting and re-purposing old content through building links.  It’s all about recycling what you already having.
