twitter-logoAs far as social media networks are concerned, Facebook and Twitter are two of the biggest networks people use.  But between the two giants, Twitter has been behind Facebook in the video market.  But for the first time, Twitter got a jump on Facebook.

Twitter gave users the ability to embed Twitter videos into websites without having to include the rest of the tweet.  Currently, Facebook doesn’t support the feature.  In order to embed a Facebook video, the entire Facebook post has to be embedded as well

This probably isn’t going to tip the balance of power into Twitter’s hands by any means, but at least the feature is still refreshing.  With this ability to embed videos minus the tweet, it acts more like YouTube, since the video service has been doing the same thing for years.

The video embed that Twitter is utilizing is based on the same JavaScript the company is using to embed tweets and follow buttons.
