According to an announced made by Twitter, the social media platform is going to remove Fleets feature on August 3, a short eight months after it was rolled out. The company went on to explain the reason why the adoption rate of this feature wasn’t quite what they were expecting.
- Fleets were used by those who are already tweeting. Ultimately, this means that the engagement level wasn’t improving any with Fleets
- The tweet composer will begin seeing updates, and the camera function will begin to see the inclusion of features from the Fleets composer.
- Despite Fleets going away, Spaces will remain, where you’ll see it at the top of the timeline when somebody you are following hosts or participates in a live audio conversation.
