What Everybody Missed About Hummingbird: Social Signals

Hummingbird 2 As you have undoubtedly read by now, Google has had their Hummingbird algorithm out for many months now.   We’ve all been using Google with the Hummingbird implicated into our searches every time we preform a search query. This past Halloween,  and Danny Sullivan did a live broadcast event via a Hangout on Air (HOA) that included an important revelation about Hummingbird and Social signals.

It seems that there was a pretty big limitation that Google wasn’t able to technically overcome before the release of the algorithm.  This limitation centered around social signals as a ranking factor.  With the release of Hummingbird though, Google has the capability to better process social signals.  Granted, this isn’t the only thing that Hummingbird does, but Eric’s article centers around this particular aspect of the algorithm.
