Will Apple Be Launching A Google Street View Competitor?

14826-apple-logo-1366x768-computer-wallpaper (1)Google Street View is one of those Google Maps features that are fun to play around with when you’re bored, and can even sometimes be u useful at times.  Google Street View was a feature that set Google Maps apart from other competitors, such as Big Maps and Nokia Maps.  I would make sense that somebody would eventually try to directly compete with Street View.  Apple may be seeking to create its own version of Street View.

Here’s a post that appeared on Apple’s site:

Apple even listed cities around the world where their cars will be driving, which includes those in the US, the UK and France.

Last year, there were photographs of camera-equipped vans associated with Apple taken that shows them driving around the San Francisco Bay area, as well as New York.  At that time, there were those who thought this was an effort to create a Google Street View type feature for Apple Maps, or if it was all about autonomous vehicles.Could it be both?  The answer could be both.

Th real purpose behind Street View is all about the data that Google collects, and a side effect of the Street View effort is fun for those who use the feature.  Data is the real value of the project, and it has been instrumental in improving the accuracy of Google Maps, navigation and mobile location.

At this point, regardless of the improvements that Apple Maps has made over the years, it still hasn’t become a full competitor with Google Maps.

If the above image really has something to do with an “Apple Maps Street View,” maybe it’ll help lift Apple Maps up a little closer to ‘real competitor’ status with Google Maps.
