The holiday season is closing in fast now, and with the Coronavirus pandemic still in high swing, people want to know if we’ll be returning to psychical stores for our holiday shopping or if we will be shopping primarily online.

Greg Sterling of Search Engine Land wants to know “to what degree traditional retailers will be able to leverage physical stores for competitive advantage in their battle with Amazon and other pure play e-tailers?”

Most feel that almost all shopping this season will take place virtually with stores playing second fiddle. Greg said that despite the face most purchases will be taking place online, local stores will still play an important roll in consumer decision making. Shoppers feel that they will make a purchase if they know they can make their returns to a physical store.
