As many of you have probably heard, ever since the Yahoo and Firefox deal went through, Yahoo had managed to take some of Google’s search share away from them, but in a constant tug-of-war scenario, Google had managed to take back some of that search share from Yahoo. Google had done this in part by asking Firefox users to come back to Google.
Now, it seems that Yahoo is asking Firefox to switch their default search engine to Yahoo Search. Here is a picture of the Yahoo home page adding a bar that reads:
“Yahoo is the preferred search engine for Firefox. Switch now.”
This message bar can also be seen on other Yahoo properties, such as Yahoo Search and Yahoo Mail:
