Referrer Policies

Referral & Affiliate Program Terms

Last Updated: October 9, 2026

These terms govern participation in the Thrive Business Marketing Referral & Affiliate Program (“Program”). “Thrive,” “we,” and “us” refer to Thrive Business Marketing. “Participant,” “you,” and “your” refer to an approved referrer or affiliate.

By enrolling in the Program and accepting these terms, you agree to the conditions below. Any separate written agreement signed by Thrive and you controls where it conflicts with these terms.

1. Program Participation

The Program allows approved participants to introduce prospective clients to Thrive or promote Thrive’s services in exchange for commissions on qualifying referrals.

Submitting an application does not automatically enroll you in the Program. Participation begins when Thrive confirms your acceptance in writing.

You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to enter into this agreement. If participating on behalf of a business, you must have authority to act for that business.

Thrive may decline an application or referral that is unsuitable for its services or creates a conflict of interest.

2. Commission Structure

For qualifying referrals, Thrive pays:

  • 10% of all one-time and upfront service fees collected by Thrive.
  • 10% of recurring service fees collected by Thrive for up to six months, or for the duration of the campaign or project, whichever is shorter.

One-time and upfront fees include setup, onboarding, and project fees charged for Thrive’s services.

The recurring commission period begins on the referred client’s recurring service start date and ends six calendar months later, or when the campaign or project ends, whichever occurs first. For prepaid recurring services, only the portion attributable to services within that period qualifies.

Each fee is counted once. A fee categorized as both upfront and recurring does not generate two commissions.

Example: A qualifying client pays a $1,000 upfront fee and $3,000 per month in recurring service fees. You earn $100 on the upfront fee and $300 per month for up to six months. If the campaign continues for the full period and all fees are collected, the total commission is $1,900.

Commission amounts vary with the client’s purchases, payment history, and service duration. Participation does not guarantee earnings.

3. Fees Used to Calculate Commissions

Commissions are calculated on service fees actually collected and retained by Thrive, after discounts, credits, refunds, and chargebacks.

The commission base excludes:

  • Taxes.
  • Advertising spend paid to advertising platforms.
  • Reimbursed expenses and third-party costs passed through to the client.
  • Fees paid directly to another provider.
  • Unpaid invoices.

These exclusions do not exclude Thrive’s own setup, project, management, or other service fees.

Standalone Surge subscriptions or other separately operated programs are covered only if Thrive confirms their inclusion in writing.

4. Qualifying Referrals

A referral qualifies when:

  1. You are an approved Program participant.
  2. The prospect is identified through a referral method authorized by Thrive.
  3. Thrive confirms that the referral is eligible and attributed to you.
  4. The prospect enters into a paid service agreement with Thrive within 90 days of Thrive receiving the referral, unless Thrive extends that period in writing.
  5. Thrive collects the qualifying fees.

Existing Thrive clients and prospects already in an active sales conversation with Thrive do not qualify unless approved in writing.

Self-referrals, referrals involving a business you own or control, and arrangements involving shared ownership require advance written approval.

Thrive retains discretion over whether to accept a prospect as a client. You are not authorized to promise acceptance, pricing, services, or results.

5. Referral Submission and Attribution

Use the referral process provided by Thrive, such as an introduction, submission form, approved referral link, or referral code.

For direct introductions, obtain the prospect’s permission before sharing their contact information with Thrive.

Referral links or codes may be provided where available. Tracking is not guaranteed to work across every device, browser, or interaction, so notify Thrive promptly if you believe a referral was not recorded.

If multiple participants refer the same prospect, attribution generally goes to the first eligible referral documented and accepted by Thrive. Thrive may consider evidence of the introduction and the prospect’s confirmation when resolving an attribution question.

Commissions are not divided between participants unless Thrive agrees in writing. Referral attribution disputes must be raised within 60 days of the relevant commission statement or attribution notice.

6. Commission Payments

Commissions are calculated monthly and paid within 30 days after the end of the month in which Thrive collects the qualifying client payment.

Payments require valid payment information and any reasonably requested tax documentation. If required information is missing, payment may be held until it is supplied.

Each payment will include a statement or summary sufficient to identify the commission calculation. Client information may be limited to protect confidentiality.

You are responsible for taxes associated with your commissions. Thrive may make required tax reporting or withholding as applicable.

7. Refunds, Cancellations, and Nonpayment

No commission is earned on amounts Thrive does not collect or retain.

If a client receives a refund or credit, or a payment is reversed, the corresponding commission will be adjusted. If that commission has already been paid, Thrive may offset the adjustment against future commissions or request repayment.

Recurring commissions end when the campaign or project ends, even if the six-month period has not elapsed.

A pause in service does not extend the six-calendar-month commission window unless Thrive agrees in writing.

8. Renewals and Additional Purchases

Recurring renewals do not restart the six-month commission period.

Additional one-time or upfront service fees within the originally attributed campaign or project remain eligible under Section 2.

A separate later project, a new campaign, or a purchase after the original engagement ends requires written confirmation of referral eligibility. It does not automatically create a new commission period.

9. Promotion and Affiliate Disclosures

Your promotions must be accurate, honest, and consistent with Thrive’s current service information.

Clearly disclose your financial relationship with Thrive whenever you recommend or promote its services. Place the disclosure close to the recommendation or referral link so people can readily notice and understand it.

Suggested wording:

“I may earn a commission if you become a Thrive client through my referral.”

Do not rely solely on a disclosure buried in a footer, profile, or separate terms page. For video or audio promotions, include a disclosure appropriate to the format.

These requirements reflect the FTC’s guidance that material relationships should be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. Federal Trade Commission

10. Prohibited Activities

You may not:

  • Make false, misleading, or unsupported claims about Thrive or its services.
  • Guarantee rankings, leads, revenue, or other results without Thrive’s written authorization.
  • Present yourself as a Thrive employee or claim authority to bind Thrive.
  • Offer unauthorized discounts, incentives, or contract terms.
  • Send unlawful unsolicited messages or use unlawfully obtained contact lists.
  • Create fake referrals, manipulate tracking, or misrepresent referral ownership.
  • Publish confidential client information or unauthorized testimonials.
  • Collect payments on Thrive’s behalf.
  • Register domains, social accounts, or advertising identities that impersonate Thrive.

Paid advertising using Thrive’s name, trademarks, or branded search terms requires advance written approval.

You are responsible for complying with applicable advertising, privacy, communications, and professional-conduct requirements.

11. Brand Materials

Thrive may provide approved logos, links, descriptions, or promotional materials for Program use.

You receive a limited, nonexclusive, revocable permission to use those materials solely for approved Program activities. Ownership remains with Thrive.

You must stop using materials upon request or when your participation ends. Material changes to Thrive’s logos or approved claims require written permission.

12. Privacy and Confidentiality

Share only information necessary to make an authorized business introduction. Do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential legal matter details, client records, or other confidential information.

Protect nonpublic information you receive through the Program, including client details, proposals, pricing arrangements, and commission records. Use it only for authorized Program purposes.

These confidentiality obligations continue after participation ends.

13. Independent Relationship

Participants act independently. Participation does not create employment, a legal partnership, a joint venture, or authority to act as Thrive’s agent.

You control your own permitted referral activities and are responsible for your expenses unless Thrive agrees otherwise in writing.

Commissions compensate qualifying referrals. The Program does not pay for recruiting other participants.

14. Termination

Either party may end participation by written notice.

Thrive may suspend participation while investigating suspected fraud, tracking manipulation, misleading promotion, or other material violations. Any disputed commissions may be held during that review, with the reason communicated to you.

Ending participation does not cancel otherwise valid commissions on referrals accepted before termination. Those commissions remain subject to the original commission window, client payments, refunds, and these terms.

Commissions generated through fraud or other prohibited conduct are not payable. After termination, stop presenting yourself as a Program participant and discontinue use of Thrive’s promotional materials.

15. Program Changes

Thrive may update these terms or the Program prospectively by notifying participants.

Material changes to commission rates or eligibility will be communicated at least 30 days before taking effect. Changes will apply to referrals accepted after the effective date and will not reduce commissions already earned or alter the agreed commission terms for previously accepted referrals, unless both parties agree in writing.

16. Questions and Disputes

Contact Thrive in writing (email is fine) with questions about participation, attribution, or payments. Include the relevant referral details and commission statement where available.

Both parties will first attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith discussions. Nothing in these terms prevents either party from exercising rights available under applicable law.
