Google Search Console Performance Report Filters: A Sticky Situation

google cover

Google Search Console has recently introduced a highly anticipated feature that will streamline your SEO reporting process: sticky performance report filters. This means that the filters you apply to the Search performance report, Discover performance report, and News performance report will now persist across different tabs and even when you navigate between reports.

Previously, filters would be reset each time you switched between reports or tabs. This could be time-consuming, especially if you frequently needed to apply the same filters. With the new sticky filters, you can save time and effort by setting your preferred filters once and having them automatically applied to subsequent reports.

In addition to sticky filters, Google has also introduced a “reset filters” button. This button allows you to quickly clear any existing filters and start with a fresh slate.

Another helpful enhancement is the automatic tab switching behavior. When you click on a row in a specific tab of the Search Console performance report, the report will automatically switch to the Queries tab. If you’re already in the Queries tab, the report will automatically switch to the Pages tab. This feature can help you quickly drill down into specific data points and analyze your performance in more detail.

Overall, the introduction of sticky performance report filters is a significant improvement for SEO professionals. By simplifying the filtering process and automating certain tasks, Google Search Console has made it easier to analyze your website’s performance and identify areas for optimization.
