For the year of 2020, TikTok was considered to be the most downloaded app of the year. This is based on App Annie download charts for 2020, which looks at the year on year performance for apps on both Android and iOS.
According to the report, the top ten apps listed in the top ten were put there in terms ‘Total downloads’, ‘Consumer spend’ and ‘Monthly active users’.
Although it’s not as reliable as official user counts released by the individual counts, the information is indicative enough to provide a comparison of performance between the apps in the market.
