Thrive Business Marketing company logo

Google partnersIt’s that time to replace the old with the new.  In a post on the AdWords Agency Blogspot blog, it was announced yesterday that Google Partners replaced the Google Certification Program.  This new certification platform will provide those in need with free certification exams, as well as access to “Google experts” and others in the Google Partners community.  Sales and marketing toolkits are also thrown in for good measure.

Once the announcement was made, an addendum was added to the post.  In it, the new certification experience on Google Partners will take over the Google Certification Program on November 13.

Google alerted those who were part of the Google Certification Program with the following email – “On September 30, 2013, Google will begin replacing the Google Certification Program with a new and improved experience for agencies and online marketing professionals — Google Partners.”

The specific changes to the existing Google Certification Program includes:

  • Google Certification Program account access will be read-only beginning September 30.
  • All advertisers are required have a Google Partners account in order to take exams and receive certifications.
  • Although the exams used to have a $50-per-exam fee, the exams and certifications are now free.
  • Google Certification Program exam history and Adwords certification status will transfer to a Google Partners Account as long as a user joins Google Partners with the same Google account they used for their Google Certification Program account.
