When you look at TikTok’s algorithm, and how it recommends content to other users, it’s certain a different beast when compared to other video related platforms, such as YouTube.

When YouTube puts videos up on a user’s feed, it’s usually based on popularity of the creator and the video, but with TikTok, it’s different. In short, any video on TikTok has the potential to go viral, regardless of a creator’s follower count and popularity.

Earlier this year, TikTok announced its plans to launch a new Transparency Center in LA. The company would show how its platform works, displaying insights into its algorithms, content moderation processes and more.

This week, TikTok outlined its new virtual tour of its Transparency Center for regulators, journalists and politicians to help counter negative press about its internal processes.
