Yahoo 2016 Year In Review: ‘2016 Election’ Is The Top Search Term & ‘Election Day’ No. 1 News Story

Yahoo-logo-purple-800Yahoo has given us their top ten most popular search terms for the year.  Not only that, Yahoo released their top news stories, as well as a number of other ‘most popular’ top ten lists for the site in 2016.

Yahoo sad that the most searched term for 2016 was “2016 Election” with president elect “Donald Trump in the second spot in the lit.  Hilary Clinton was able to just barely get onto the list herself at the tenth spot.  The video game Roblox was able to get number three on the list.

Most of Yahoo’s top ten most popular search terms were celebrities such as Gwen Stefani, Megyn Kelly, Jodi Sweetin (of “Full House” & “Fuller House” fame), and two Kardashians.

Yahoo has ranked their top ten most popular news stories – arguably, one of the most depressing lists possible.

The site even curated the top ten celebrity searches, with Gwen Stefani at the top of the list; top sports stories which was made up mostly of Olympic-related headlines; and, the following list of top companies as determined by Yahoo Finance’s most read stories.
